In some way I am always dreaming. I dream of world

In some way I am always dreaming. I dream of worlds I create, some rooted in history coming alive in demon infested trees and coasting through bazaars constructed of onyx and ivory. Others completely mythical, where bees sing, their fuzzy snouts coloured in carmine pollen and magic pounds through the very pavements.

In reality the world is round and ripe filled with possibility and in dreams it is flat, where I fear falling off the edge into a land of fantasy.

There are strawberry fields ripening under a golden sun, boughs of bougainvillea that hang heavy, creeping over walls, the shimmer of raw silk, the sky at dawn over the racing river and the house thawing in a winter that chills the bones…

There is a mystery and an air of secrecy that surr

There is a mystery and an air of secrecy that surrounds the unknown. So it was with the Tiger Princess. Some said she had sailed away on a boat made of oyster shells with her beast. Others claimed that she reared her cub to be so fearsome that the King had locked both away in one of the turrets of the stone fortress. She was said to have eyes that were darker than the night, her hair was softer than the feathers of the doves reared in the castle. Her eyelashes so long they had to be trimmed with thin gold scissors, her lips were said to be darker than the fruit of the date palm trees and her skin the color of honey illuminated by sunlight. They said that the bindi worn between her eyebrows was melted gold that the king had poured into the indents of her skin when she was born. They said that when she sang the clouds parted so the moon could illuminate the dark forests and when she danced the earth sprouted tiger lilies. But no one knew the truth...
